Men's Basketball Unable To Hold Off Tufts

BOSTON, Mass. – An 11 point night by Austin Pickney couldn't hold off the Tufts Jumbos Friday night as the Emerson Men's Basketball Team fell 70-49. The Lions are now 1-2 on the year as Tufts improves to 1-2 overall.

The first half saw the Lions shoot 38% from the floor with Pickney leading the way with nine points and Michael Thorpe with seven. Tufts came out hard though as Tom Palleschi dropped six as the Jumbos shot 41% as Tufts rolled into the half up 31-26.

The Jumbos came out of the break to tear it up though as they shot nearly 45% in the half. Eli Kell-Abrams stepped up for EC as he dropped six points and an assist, but Tufts was on point as Ben Farris put up eight while his teammates added 31 points. The Lions couldn't hold it down on offense though as the Jumbos rolled to a 70-49 final.

The Lions host their home opener on Monday as they set to face Pine Manor in a 6 p.m. tip-off at Emerson's Brown-Plofker Gym in Boston, Mass.
