Men's Basketball Topped By Regis In Saints Greater Boston Classic Championship Game

Box Score

BOSTON, Mass. – Eli Kell-Abrams lit up for eight points and an All-Tournament Team nod Sunday night but the Emerson Men's Basketball Team fell shy in the Saints Greater Boston Invitational Championship Game to Regis in a 67-41 loss. The Lions are now 1-1 overall while the Pride move to 2-0.

The first half saw the Lions come out sluggish, shooting only 15% as a team in the half with Kell-Abrams collecting six points to lead the Lions. The big men for Regis made a huge mark though as they put up 10 points in the paint to Emerson's two while their work on the boards gave them five second chance points to head into the half up 35-13.

The second half the Lions stepped it up on offense, this time with Tyson Hallowell leading Emerson with five points and 11 different Lions putting up points. The Pride were phenomenal though shooting 42% from the floor as Regis's big men did work with 18 more points in the paint to close out the win.

For their efforts on the weekend Eli Kell-Abrams and Austin Pickney both took home All-Tournament honors.

The Lions return to action this Friday as they roll to Tufts for a 7 p.m. game in Medford, Mass.
