Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – Nadav Swarttz's three block assists and four kills couldn't stop the Emmanuel Saints Thursday night as the Lions fell 25-14, 25-17 and 25-13 in the GNAC Semifinals. The Lions close out their season with a 12-17 record while Emmanuel moves to 18-13 and onto the GNAC Finals against Rivier on Sunday.
Set one saw the Saints tear the roof off, swinging .609 with Zach Whitermore and Julian Hess both flooring four kills each. The Emerson offense couldn't seem to get a foothold though as they only swung .053 in the set as Emmanuel took the 25-14 win.
Set two saw the Saints keep an even keel on offense as they hit .400 this time along with Julian Hess dropping three and Ryan Kessley four to buoy the attack. Alex Frapech started swinging in the set, putting down three in the set. The Saint defense was on point as well though as they put up three team blocks and 14 digs to take set two 25-17.
Three was all the story that was needed on the night as Emmanuel went on another tear for a .636 team average, this time wth Ashanti Jackson crushing five kills. Jackson Wiley scrapped for the Lions in the set as he dropped three kills for a .750 average, but unforced errors did the Lions in as they fell 25-13.
