Bilali Mack Leads Men's Basketball In ECAC Quarterfinal Loss

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Bilali Kalilou-Mack's 11 points led the Lions Wednesday night as the Emerson Men's Basketball Team fell in a tough 71-52 loss to the Westfield State Owls in the ECAC Quarterfinals. With the loss the Lions close out their season with a 15-12 overall record as the Owls move onto the semifinals with a 22-5 record.

The first half saw James Rhodes and Eli Kell-Abrams lead the way for Emerson with five points each as they each drained a three to bolster EC's offense. The Owls stepped up on offense though as they shot 46% from the floor to Emerson's 29% with Lee Vasquez dropping 13 points and teammate Grant Cooper putting up 11 as Westfield rolled into the half up 35-21.

The second half saw Bilali Mack come off the bench to heat up for nine points for the Lions as he led the floor in the half. The bench played a key role for Emerson as they posted 26 of EC's 31 points in the half.

The Owls didn't stay quiet though with Lee Vazquez leading Westfield again with eight more points in the half. The Owls shooting was again their strong point as they hit 40% from the floor to Emerson's 28% to put up 36 points and close out the win 71-52.

The loss closes out the Emerson Men's Basketball 2012-2013 season. They'd like to thank their fans, families and friends for all the support throughout the season.
