Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – With Giuli Frendak stepping in for 25 assists on the night the Emerson Women's Volleyball Team threw down a sweep of the Suffolk Rams Wednesday night. EC took the win 25-22, 25-15 and 25-15 to improve to 6-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play as the Rams drop to 4-6 on the year and 0-1 in the GNAC.
Set one saw the Lions come out slightly off-kilt on offense as they looked to sync up with Frandak. The Rams took the opportunity to push EC with 12 tie scores and three lead changes before the Lions clicked into gear as Kat Rice floored four kills for a .429 average to edge out Suffolk 25-22.
Set two was a showcase for Alyssa Thorne as she tore the roof off the set with five kills for a .556 average. Giuli Frendak locked in as well, putting up 10 assists in the set as the Lions took the first point and new looked back ripping through a 25-15 win.
While set three's score emulated set two's, this time it was Kat Rice's three kills coupled with three Lions putting up two kills each. The Lions defense also stepped up forcing Suffolk to a -.100 attack percentage taking the sweep 25-15.
The Lions will travel next for their Saturday match against Colby-Sawyer and Southern Vermont starting at 11 a.m.
