EAST BOSTON, Mass. (September 9, 2026) – Emerson College battled to its second-straight scoreless draw, extending its program-best shutout streak to four games, with a 0-0 deadlock with Suffolk University in a non-conference women's soccer matchup at East Boston Memorial Park tonight.
Emerson maintained its unbeaten start to the season having gone without a defeat for its first four matches for the first time since starting the 2015 season with six-straight wins and unbeaten through its first eight. The Lions extended its program-best shutout streak to start a season to four matches, finishing the night with a shutout streak of 360-minutes to start the year and 403:08 dating back to last season. Emerson has also played consecutive scoreless draws for the first time since October 4 and 8 of last season at Clark University and against Wellesley College in NEWMAC play.
Emerson and Suffolk played to a scoreless tie for the second-straight season with sophomore Arden Rose holding the Lions scoreless for the second-straight year in the Rams goal, finishing with two saves on the night – both in the second half. Junior Hailey Forman and sophomore Addie Costello combined to post the fourth-straight clean sheet in goal for Emerson. Forman was untested in the first half, while Costello made one second half save in her season debut for the Lions.
Emerson was again buoyed by a strong effort from its backline in front of the goalkeeping duo with senior Kaylin O'Meara, sophomore Brady Campbell and first year Lily Polin all playing the full 90 minutes on defense and limiting Suffolk to just one shot on target and two corners.
Emerson (2-0-2, 0-0-0 NEWMAC) returns to action on Sunday when it hosts No. 2-ranked Emory University at Rotch Field at 2 p.m. Suffolk (0-0-3, 0-0-0 CNE) hosts Thomas College on Saturday at noon.
