Jenni-Rose DiCecco is in her first season on the Emerson women's basketball staff as an assistant coach in 2023-24. As well as coaching at Emerson, she works with the Boston Celtics in their JCA program as an Assistant Coach. Before her coaching career, she played at the collegiate level at Suffolk University for 5 years as the starting point guard.
As an experienced coach and player, DiCecco brings more than a decade of playing experience to Emerson, including 5 seasons as a collegiate women’s basketball player. She spent the previous summer coaching as an assistant coach with the Boston Celtics Junior Celtics Academy camps, where she promoted successful youth development through basketball. Prior to her work with the Celtics, she played five years at Division III Suffolk University (2017-22). DiCecco enjoyed great success at Suffolk University both on and off the court.
DiCecco made an immediate impact at Suffolk University, grabbing eight rookie of the week spots as well as GNAC Rookie of the Year and NEWBA All-Rookie Team Selection as a freshman. She continued her impact as a Sophomore earning D3Hoops.com All-Northeast Fourth-Team, All-NEWBA Third-Team, All-GNAC First-Team and GNAC All-Tournament Team.
Claiming captainship her following three years playing, DiCecco led the team to many wins while earning more accolades along the way. Her Junior season she became the 15th member of Suffolk women’s basketball 1,000 point club while also being named All-GNAC First-Team and GNAC All-Tournament Team. DiCecco’s senior season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however they were able to play eight games that season where she became the All-Time Leader in Assists, All-Time Leader in Steals and was named D3Hoops.com Second-Team All-East/Northeast. Returning for her Graduate year to pursue her Masters in Crime and Justice Studies, she played her 5th year on the Suffolk Women’s Basketball Team where she became the All-Time Leader in points and was named NEWBA All-Star, CCC Defensive Player of the Year and All-CCC First-Team. DiCecco was also awarded the most prestigious accolade at Suffolk University, the Charles Law Student-Athlete Award in 2021-2022 while pursuing her Masters degree.
In addition to her basketball experience both coaching and playing, DiCecco has also served as an Events and Program Coordinator with Elite Home Fitness, Boston’s #1 In-Home Personal Training Franchise from 2022.
