Matt Colombini is entering his ninth season as the Head Coach of the Emerson Lions Men's Lacrosse Team.

Colombini is the all-time leader in wins in men’s lacrosse program history. The 2022 season proved to be the best in program history, compiling a 12-6 record and reaching the NEWMAC Tournament for the first time. The Lions had three players named to the NEWMAC All-Conference team and had their first honorable mention USILA All-American.  Additionally, two players were named to the NEILA East-West Senior All-Star Game.

Colombini came to Emerson after serving as the assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Colby College in Waterville, Maine during the 2016 season. Prior to Colby, he was the assistant and subsequent interim head coach at Wheaton College. During his three seasons at Wheaton, the Lyons made the NEWMAC Tournament twice and had 12 players named to the NEWMAC All-Conference team.

Colombini attended Ursinus College in Pennsylvania where he studied history with a minor in coaching and secondary education. While at Ursinus, Colombini played goalie for their men’s lacrosse program and was named to the 2011 All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team.
