Jack Barrett

Jack Barrett, a 2010 graduate of Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire, has been coaching at Emerson since 2011. He started by serving as an Assistant Coach for three seasons under Head Coach Jim O'Brien before moving into an Associate Head Coach position with Bill Curley.

Since joining the Lions, Barrett has been involved in all faucets of the program, with emphasis on recruiting, player development, scouting opponents, practice and game planning, scheduling, and fundraising.

An Andover, Mass. native, Barrett was named All-Scholastic by both the Boston Globe and Boston Herald in 2004 as a senior at Andover High. After playing a year at prep school basketball power house New Hampton School, Barrett went on to receive a full scholarship to Franklin Pierce University, serving as a three-year captain.  He finished his collegiate career at Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Upon graduation, Barrett started his coaching career at Suffolk University under Head Coach Adam Nelson qualifying for the league playoffs.

With Emerson, Barrett has recruited and developed a number of star athletes including five 1st Team All-Conference members, four 2nd Team All-Conference members, three All-Rookie Team members, 1 Rookie of the Year, 1 NEWMAC Playoff MVP, and 2 Emerson Athlete of the Year awards.  Barrett also was a huge factor in Emerson’s most recent success, winning the school its first ever NEWMAC Championship (2018-19) and qualifying for the NCAA tournament (2018-19) for the first time in school history.  He has qualified for conference playoffs at Emerson in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2019.
