Coach Vennochi is entering his 10th season as the head coach of the Emerson baseball program. The Melrose, MA native graduated from St. John’s Preparatory in Danvers, MA in 2007 before graduating from Emerson in 2011 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, and a minor in Marketing, Advertising & Public Relations. He then completed his Masters of Education in Athletic Administration at Endicott College’s Van Loan School in 2013.
Vennochi played three seasons for the Lions, including being named a captain and team’s MVP his senior year. In his 95-game career, Vennochi tallied 81 hits and a .299 average.
Before coming back to his alma mater in the summer of 2015, Vennochi worked in Sports Information at UMass Boston, Wentworth Institute of Technology and Wesleyan University in Connecticut. At Wesleyan, he also was an assistant coach with the Cardinals' softball program..
His first head coaching experience was at nearby conference rival Babson College with their club program in 2012. In addition, between 2011-2015, he worked camps, clinics, and did personal instruction at Extra Innings in Middleton, MA and Rivals Baseball in Woburn. He now works as an instructor at At-Bats in Boxborough, MA.
Vennochi currently lives in Candia, New Hampshire with his wife Hannah, sons Walter and Giovanni, daughter Greta and their eight chickens.
