First year Valentina Luciano chipped in by going 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Lions.
Senior Andrea Delgado was 3-for-3 at the plate for Wellesley with a stolen base and run scored, while junior Jillian Colgan doubled twice and drove in a run. Junior Alena Mulhern added a pair of RBI and hit 1-for-3. Emerson grabbed the lead with a pair of runs in the second when Yacovelli led off with a double to right center before Sheehan singled. The duo scored on RBI ground outs from sophomore Riley Fasteau and senior Kayla Nuehlen.
Wellesley responded with a four run fifth to take the lead, highlighted by a two-run single through the right side with the bases loaded by Mulhern, who drew a throwing error at second base on the play to allow her to score the go-ahead run. Delgado followed with a single and then stole second before scoring on a double to right center by Colgan.
Emerson regained the lead with a five run fifth keyed by a two run double to left by Cardinale with one out. Cardinale later scored when sophomore Avi Kuperman reached on an error and then Sheehan added a two-run single up the middle. Sheehan did the rest, escaping a bases loaded two out jam in the sixth and then stranded a lead off double from Colgan in the seventh to close out the win, striking out three over the late two.

Wellesley rode two big innings to the game two win and earn a split of the doubleheader. While the Blue were piling up 15 hits, Jillian Colgan and first year Lauren Seyller combined to scatter three hits in the circle and one earned run. Colgan allowed just one earned run on two hits and two walks with a strikeout over the first four to earn the win (6-2), while Seyller collected her second save with three innings of one-hit shutout relief, striking out and walking one.
