BOSTON, Mass. (April 10, 2026) – The University of Massachusetts Boston won two of the three doubles matches to earn what proved to be the decisive point in edging Emerson College 4-3 in a non-conference women's tennis match at the BC High School Tennis Courts today.

How It Happened
- UMass Boston won two of the three doubles matches to earn what proved to be the key doubles point in the match, with Patel and sophomore Tatiana Malone clinching the point with their 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles over the Emerson No. 1 pairing of sophomore Alisa Pimenova and first year Teah Login.
- Emerson's No. 3 doubles team of senior Jayden Beverly and first year Anna Matsuura earned the Lions doubles victory in a tiebreaker at No. 3.
- Briones evened the match with her 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles against UMass Boston junior Sandra Watson before Miner pushed Emerson in front when her opponent retired in the second set.
- Patel pulled UMass Boston even again with her 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles against Login and then Rubinstein drew the Beacons within a point of the match win with her three-set win against Pimenova 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.
- Jones leveled the match once again with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles over senior Shreya Saravana Rakshana.
- Roqueza provided the match clinching point by battling past Beverly in three sets at No. 6 singles 6-2, 6-7 (7-9), 6-3.
