NASHUA, N.H. (March 19, 2026) – Rivier University hit .348 as a team, served up ten aces and recorded six blocks on its way to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-17) victory over Emerson College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's volleyball matchup at Muldoon Center tonight.
Junior Tyler Dickinson paced the Rivier attack with nine kills and just one error for a .727 hitting percentage while adding three block assists and a dig. Classmate Justin Barish engineered the attack with 22 assists, while senior Matthew McCloskey chipped in five kills for a .364 hitting percentage with just one error, four aces and two blocks.
Junior Riley Goldman led Emerson with seven kills and just two errors on 17 total attacks (.294). Sophomore Mario Cielo-Salinas tallied eight kills and a block assist for the Lions, while first year Ryan Chen dished out 22 assists with a kill and three digs.
Rivier grabbed the lead in a first set that included eight ties and three lead changes by scoring seven straight points on the serve of junior Kody Sodoyer, who served up an ace after Dickinson posted four of his seven kills in the set during the run that extended the Raiders lead to 24-13.
Rivier used an 11-2 run to secure set two with junior Aidan Combs posting back-to-back kills during the run and then rode three-straight aces by McCloskey to take control of the third set and complete the sweep.
Emerson (3-10, 0-3 GNAC) is back in action on Saturday when it hosts Dean College for a GNAC match at Bobbi Brown and Steven Plofker Gymnasium at 11 a.m. Rivier (11-10, 3-1 GNAC) hosts nationally ranked Lasell University on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
