BOSTON, Mass. (February 25, 2026) – Emerson College senior guard Bri Frongillo has been named to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) weekly honor roll second team after leading the Lions into postseason play after a win and breaking the program's career scoring mark in the process the organization announced.
Frongillo has been recognized by NEWBA for the fourth time this season with her weekly second team selection, having also collected first team honors twice and Player of the Week accolades for the third time in her career in December. She joins sophomore Jessie Silk who is also a three-time weekly Team of the Week selection this season. Frongillo averaged 16.5 points on 40-percent shooting (12-for-30) from the field, including 5-for-14 (35.7%) from three-point range, while converting all four free-throw attempts in a 1-1 week for Emerson. She also contributed 4.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and a blocked shot per game in playing all but 1:51 over the two games.
Frongillo led Emerson with a game-high 17 points at Clark University on Wednesday to become the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,272 points in 62 career games in a Lions uniform over the last three years. She surpassed the previous career scoring mark of Molly Zahr, '01 who netted 1,270 points from 1997-2001 and added six rebounds, six assists and two blocked shots. Frongillo netted a team-high 16 points with three rebounds and three assists as the Lions capped the regular season with a 67-61 win over Springfield College on Saturday.

Frongillo, a two-time New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Athlete of the Week this season was named a preseason All-American by D3Hoops.com. She has started 18 of the 19 games she has played since joining the team after completing a first semester internship on the West Coast. She ranks third among NEWMAC scoring leaders with her team-best 19.1 points per game on 42 -percent shooting (4th NEWMAC), including 38.9-percent (42-for-108) from three-point distance (5th), while shooting a NEWMAC-best 90.3% (56-62) from the free-throw line to rank fourth nationally in Division III. Frongillo averages 2.2 three-point field goals per game (3rd), 3.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists (2nd) and 1.3 steals per game in a NEWMAC-high 38.2 minutes per contest (12th nationally).
Frongillo scored in double-figures in 16 of 19 games played this season, with 20-plus points in seven games and three 30-point outings. She has led the Lions in scoring 15 of the 19 games she has played this season and 50 times in her career overall. The reigning NEWMAC Athlete of the Year and an honorable mention All-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), is a two-time All-NEWMAC first team selection since transferring from Division I Bryant University. She has scored an Emerson record 1,288 of her 1,344 career points as a Lion, adding 56 as a first year at Bryant, having also totaled 254 rebounds, 286 assists and 85 steals in her 75 career games played over four years. She is a 44.5-percent shooter during her time at Emerson, including 37.6% from beyond the arc, having converted 87.1% of her free-throw attempts.
Frongillo, a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District and two-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference performer, has scored in double figures in 60 of the 75 games she has played in her collegiate career. She has recorded four career double-doubles – all with points and assists, including 26 points and a season-high ten assists at Coast Guard on February 7 – netting 20-plus points 33 times in her career, including 30-plus points eight times with a pair of 40-point games. She netted a career-high 44 points with a career-best 12 assists in a win over Coast Guard in January 2025.
Emerson (14-11, 5-6 NEWMAC) is back in action tonight, having earned a spot in the NEWMAC Tournament for the second-straight year, when it visits top-seeded and No. 5 nationally ranked Smith College for a quarterfinal round matchup at 7 p.m.
