Babson Shoots Past Men's Basketball

Mulvey and Lauder lead five starters in double figures for Beavers

BOSTON, Mass. (February 11, 2026) – Babson College placed all five starters in double figures, using a balanced effort behind 52-percent shooting to secure an 82-68 victory over Emerson College in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference matchup on Hank Smith Court at Bobbi Brown and Steven Plofker Gymnasium tonight.

Sophomore Timmy Mulvey led Babson's balanced effort with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 3-for-6 from three-point distance, and two assists. Senior Tyler Lauder posted a double-double with 13 points and a game-high ten rebounds, four assists and two steals, while freshman Thomas Ferdinando contributed 15 points, six boards and three assists. Senior Timmy O'Toole rounded out the Beavers in double figures with 11 points, six boards and two assists.

Junior Shay Roban came off the bench to score 18 of Emerson's 24 first half points, including the Lions first 16 of the night to draw the hosts back from a 9-0 deficit for a 16-14 lead with 10:24 to play in the opening half. He finished with a career-high 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including 5-for-6 from three-point range, with four rebounds.

Sophomore Giulio Volonte added 12 points and four rebounds for Emerson, while junior BJ McNeil chipped in ten points, two boards and two assists.

After Roban pulled Emerson back from an early nine point deficit to take a pair of leads by scoring 11-straight points at one stage, Babson scored nine-straight points with a three-point play by Lauder and back to back threes from sophomore Logan Murphy and Ferdinando to open a ten point lead (30-20) with 5:15 to play in the half. The Beavers stretched the lead to 14 (36-22) at the intermission and then O'Toole scored four of their first six points in the second to extend the lead to 20 (46-26) four minutes in.

Emerson drew back within 12 (60-48) after a three-pointer from sophomore Roman Leraris with nine minutes still to play but could get no closer.

Noteworthy

  • Roban's career-high scoring night marked his fifth-straight game in double figures, posting 20-plus points for the second time in his career for his eighth double-digit scoring game of the season (13th career).
  • Volonte reached double figures for the second-straight game and third time in his career overall.
  • Emerson's top three scorers led a bench that accounted for 58 of its 68 points.
  • McNeil scored in double digits for the second time this season.
  • Babson finished with a 40-26 rebounding advantage, including 11-4 on the offensive glass, which was turned into a 23-2 margin in second chance points.
