BOSTON, Mass. (October 10, 2026) – Sophomore back Kate Baldock netted her first goal of the season with just 2:30 remaining in regulation to lift Emerson College to a 1-0 victory over the United States Coast Guard Academy in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's soccer matchup at Rotch Field this afternoon.

Baldock's late winner marks her first career match winning strike, netting the lone goal of the match in the 88th minute off a corner kick from first year Finlee Mills for a shot into the left side of the net and her first goal of the season (second career).

Emerson posts its second-straight home win in NEWMAC play as junior Hailey Forman preserved her fourth shutout of the season (ninth career) with five saves. Senior Julia Little finished with six saves in goal for Coast Guard.

Emerson (4-6-2, 2-3-0 NEWMAC) is back in action on Wednesday when it visits Smith College for a NEWMAC clash at 3 p.m. The Lions next home game is on Wednesday, October 21, when they host Worcester Polytechnic Institute for a NEWMAC matchup here at Rotch Field at 6 p.m.
