NORTON, Mass. (January 24, 2026) – Senior guard Bri Frongillo led three from Emerson College in double figures with a season-high 39 points in a 76-67 victory over Wheaton College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action at the Haas Athletic Center this afternoon.
Frongillo scored 27 of her season-high scoring total in the first half, including 19 in the second quarter alone, and finished the day off with 6-of-8 shooting at the free-throw line in the final minute to seal Emerson's fourth-straight win to remain perfect in NEWMAC play through three games. She finished 13-of-22 from the floor overall, including 4-for-10 from three-point distance, with a season-high matching seven rebounds, six assists and season-best three steals. It marks her second 30-point outing of the season and seventh of her career.
Junior Claire English posted her sixth double-double of the season (13th career) for Emerson with 13 second half points and a game-high 14 rebounds, three assists and three steals. Classmate Kendra Dodd rounded out the Lions in double figures with 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including 3-for-4 from three-point distance, while sophomore Lindsay Gould chipped in nine points and three boards.

Junior Cheyenne Colbert was the lone Wheaton player in double figures with 28 points on 10-of-24 shooting, including 3-for-8 from beyond the arc, draining all five free-throws with four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Senior Regan Keyter contributed eight points, eight rebounds and six assists, with classmate Kennis Jasperson chipping in nine points on 3-of-5 shooting from three, four assists and three boards.
Emerson outscored Wheaton 26-17 in the fourth quarter after the teams were deadlocked (50-50) after three quarters of play, shooting 46.2-percent from the floor (6-for-13) in the quarter and converting 13-of-16 (81.3%) free-throws to close out the win. The Lions held a five point lead (48-43) after a Frongillo steal and layup with two minutes remaining in the third quarter, but the Lyons outscored the guests 7-2 over the remainder of the frame, sparked by a Keyter three-pointer, to even the game heading to the fourth.
Colbert and Keyter scored the first two baskets of the final frame to spot Wheaton the lead (54-50) two minutes in. The Lyons lead was still four (59-55) after a Colbert three-point play with 6:23 to play when Dodd hit from three and Gould added a jumper to push Emerson back in front (60-59) with 4:23 remaining.
Jasperson answered with a three to put Wheaton back in the lead (62-60) with 3:51 on the clock, but Emerson finished with a 13-2 run to clinch the victory. English scored inside to put the Lions in the lead for good (64-62) with two minutes to play, scoring six points in all down the stretch, while Frongillo helped seal the win with her 6-of-8 free-throw shooting the rest of the way as the visitors lead stretched to a game-high 11 points (73-62) before settling at the nine point winning margin.

- Emerson has won its first three NEWMAC contests for the second-straight year after opening with four-straight Conference wins last season.
- Frongillo's season-high scoring output and seventh career 30-point outing marks the 30th time in her career she has netted 20-plus points and is her 53rd career double figure scoring game. She has led the Lions in scoring eight games this season (43 career).
- Dodd scored in double figures for second-straight game and the 21st time in her career with her fifth double figure outing of the season.
- English grabbed double digit rebounds for the eighth time this season (21st career) while also scoring in double figures for the eighth game this year (18 career).
- Both teams finished with 15 turnovers, but Emerson made the most of Wheaton's with an 11-6 margin in points off.
- Junior Elise Arnold made her first start since visiting Smith College on February 19 of last season, making her ninth career start overall this afternoon.
