WALTHAM, Mass.- The Emerson College baseball team concluded the 2025 campaign with a pair of setback against Coast Guard Friday afternoon, falling 6-0 and 12-2.
GAME ONE
THE BASICS:
Score: Emerson 0, Coast Guard 6
Records: Lions (8-21, 2-13 NEWMAC) | Bears (24-12, 11-4 NEWMAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Coast Guard produced three runs in the top of the third inning to claim a 3-0 lead.
- The Bears added a run in the fourth to extend their advantage to 4-0.
- Coast Guard tacked on one run in the eighth and ninth innings to secure its eighth-straight win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Chris Ferara (Coral Springs, Fla.), Nick Hubbe (Chappaqua, N.Y.) and Briggs Loveland (Burleson, Texas) all collected one base knock.
- Ezra Charles (Baltimore, Md.) pitched 5.1 innings in his seventh start on the mound and finished with two strikeouts. Tyler Metcalf (Louisville, Ky.), Oliver Low (Arlington, Mass.), Jake Smith (Boyne City, Mich.) and Bryson Akins (Keota, Okla.) all made relief appearances.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Coast Guard opened the scoring with three runs in the top of the first to establish an early 3-0 advantage.
- The Bears manufactured four runs in the fourth inning to stretch the margin to 7-0.
- Emerson got on the board in the bottom of the fifth, plating a pair of runs to cut the deficit to 7-2. Torin McCann-Braun (Seattle, Wash.) belted a two-run home run off the top of the left field fence to drive in Charlie Coors (Golden, Colo.).
- Coast Guard chalked up two runs in the seventh to reclaim a seven-run lead, 9-2.
- The Bears posted three runs in the ninth inning to widen the margin to double digits, 12-2.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Torin McCann-Bruan (Seattle, Wash. notched two RBIs, one hit, and one run scored.
- Charlie Coors (Golden, Colo.) chipped in with one base knock and a run scored.
- Aidan Rice (Columbus, Ohio) threw four innings and registered three strikeouts. Lukas Phillip (Franklin, Mass.), Jake Morvillo (Glen Ridge, N.J.), Henry Kagan (Pelham, N.Y.), and Huon Fitzpatrick (Encinitas, Calif.) made appearances out of the bullpen.
