Women’s Lacrosse Falls at Salve Regina in Season-Finale

MIDDLETOWN, R.I.- The Emerson College women's lacrosse team suffered an 18-14 setback at Salve Regina Wednesday night in the final contest of the 2025 campaign.


THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Emerson sported a 5-4 lead after the first quarter of play as Laura Lovell (Norwalk, Conn.) found the back of the net with less than a minute remaining in the opening period.
  • Callie Krosin (Pikesville, Md.) netted her team-leading 37th goal of the year with 19 seconds left to play in the second frame as the Lions pulled even with the Seahawks at 7-7 just before the halftime horn.
  • Salve Regina racked up eight goals in the third while limiting Emerson to one tally as the home side boasted a 15-8 advantage heading into the final quarter.
  • The visitors poured in four unanswered goals to begin the fourth period, trimming the gap to 15-12 with 8:27 remaining in regulation.
  • The two teams traded goals in the final seven minutes of action as Salve Regina secured an 18-14 win.


INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

  • Ava Selby (Boonsboro, Md.) racked up a team-high five goals while adding one assist and four draw controls.
  • Laina Gustafson (Cross Plains, Wisc.) tallied three goals and two assists.
  • Ava DelliCompagni (Coatesville, Pa.) finished with two goals and one assist to go with five draw controls.
  • Grace Danehy (Mansfield, Mass.) added two goals and dished out one assist.
  • Ellie Spotts (Corona del Mar, Calif.) recorded 13 saves between the pipes.
  • Emerson concluded the contest with 33 shots while Salve Regina posted 35 shot attempts on the night.
