BOSTON, Mass.- The fourth-seeded Emerson College women's basketball team endured a 93-87 loss to No. 5 seed Salve Regina Wednesday evening at the Hank Smith Court in the NEWMAC Tournament quarterfinals.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Salve Regina held a double-digit advantage after the first quarter of play, 28-18.
- Jessie Silk (Newton, Mass.) ended the second frame with a half-court heave that banked in as both squads chalked up 21 points in the second period with the visitors sporting a 49-39 lead at the half.
- The Lions and Seahawks each scored 23 points in the third as Emerson trailed 72-62 heading to the fourth quarter.
- Emerson started the final frame with an 11-2 run to cut the deficit to 74-73 with 7:25 left to play.
- The home side pulled even at 78-78 with 3:48 remaining in regulation on a pair of free throws by Bri Frongillo (Hopedale, Mass.).
- Salve Regina responded with seven-consecutive points to seize an 85-78 lead with 2:39 on the clock.
- The Lions trimmed the margin to 88-87 as Bri Frongillo (Hopedale, Mass.) converted a pair of free throws with 22 seconds to go.
- The Seahawks sank 5-of-6 from the charity stripe in the final seconds to secure a quarterfinal victory.

- Bri Frongillo (Hopedale, Mass.) poured in a game-best 38 points to go with six rebounds and four assists.
- Jessie Silk (Newton, Mass.) posted 20 points and nine boards.
- Charlotte Levison (Atherton, Calif.) finished with 16 points, four steals, and two blocks.
- Kaylin O'Meara (Littleton, Mass.) added 10 points off the bench.
- Emerson shot 43.1% from the floor and 33.3% from beyond the arc.
- Salve Regina concluded the contest with a field-goal percentage of 51.6% to go with 5-for-14 shooting from the perimeter.
- Amanda Folan netted 36 points to pace the Seahawks while Sofia Neary tallied 20 points and Briana Neary registered 19 points.
NEWMAC TOURNAMENT:
With Wednesday night's results, Salve Regina travels to top-seeded Smith for the semifinals February 28. In the other semifinal matchup, sixth-seeded MIT will host seventh-seeded WPI as both teams pulled off upsets in the quarterfinal round.
