BOSTON, Mass.- The Emerson College women's basketball team dropped an overtime nail-biter to Worcester Polytechnic Institute 63-61 Wednesday evening at Hank Smith Court at the Bobbi Brown & Steven Plofker Gym.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The visitors owned a 15-12 edge after the first quarter of play.
- WPI edged Emerson 18-16 in second-period scoring to hold a 33-28 advantage at the break.
- The Engineers poured in 17 points in the third while the Lions mustered nine points as the guests led 50-37 heading to the fourth frame.
- Emerson battled back to tie the game at 57-57 as Claire English (Winchester, Mass.) sank a free throw with 11 seconds remaining in regulation.
- The home side chalked up the first two buckets of the overtime period to seize a 61-57 edge with 3:55 left to play.
- WPI chalked up six unanswered points to seal a 63-61 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Bri Frongillo (Hopedale, Mass.) scored a team-best 22 points.
- Jessie Silk (Newton, Mass.) tallied 14 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
- Charlotte Levison (Atherton, Calif.) finished with eight points and eight boards
- Emerson posted a field-goal percentage of 37.3% and connected on 5-of-22 from beyond the arc.
- WPI shot 41.3% from the floor and drained just 1-of-14 from three-point range.
- Megan Stone paced the Engineers with 18 points and eight rebounds while Emmy Allyn added 13 points and Ava Giansiracusa chipped in with 12 points.
