Men's Basketball Blows Past Bridgewater State, 104-80

Lions balanced offense features six double-figure scorers

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (December 10, 2025) – Emerson College shot nearly 62-percent from the floor in a balanced offensive effort that saw six score in double-figures in a 104-80 victory over Bridgewater State University in a non-conference men's basketball matchup at Tinsley Center tonight.

Senior Linus Helmhold led Emerson's six double-figure scorers with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting, four rebounds and three assists. Postgrad Otto Luessenhop added 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting with two rebounds, while senior Jacob Armant totaled ten points, connecting on 2-of-3 three-pointers, five rebounds and four assists for the Lions.

Junior BJ McNeil chipped in a career-high 11 points off the bench for Emerson, with three assists, two rebounds and a steal, while postgrad Asher Gardiner and junior Shay Roban rounded out the Lions in double digits with ten points apiece.

Junior Samuel Omisore paced five from Bridgewater State in double-figures with a game-high 14 points with four rebounds, while freshman Jayden Florestal added 13 points, aided by 7-of-9 shooting from the free-throw line with three rebounds and two steals. Senior Louis Jennings contributed 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots, with junior Zach Taylor and freshman Jake Olmstead each chipping in ten points.

Emerson scored eight of the game's first nine points from four different players and opened the game with a 16-5 run to grab its first double digit lead (16-5) after a three-pointer from senior Brendan McNamara before the game was five minutes old.

Junior Sam Sweeney answered the McNamara triple with a three of his own for Bridgewater, but Emerson followed with a 22-4 run to take a 26 point lead (38-14) after a three-pointer from McNeil with less than eight minute to play in the first half. The Lions lead grew to 34 (48-14) three minutes later behind a McNamara three and Gardiner layup and the visitors did not look back.

Emerson settled for a 25-point (57-32) halftime margin, but Armant capped a 10-2 run to open the second half with back-to-back three-pointers and the Lions lead would not dip inside 30 again until the final seven minutes of the game.
