Sophomore Sophia Schiappa led Emerson's serving effort with a match-high six aces for her fourth match with five-plus service aces this season, while adding 12 assists and six digs. Junior Kori Meissner served up five aces for her third five-plus match of the season and eight digs.

Junior Rachel Dickerson paced the Emerson attack with a match-high 14 kills and 12 digs for her fourth double-double of the season (sixth career), while junior Lauren Yoo contributed 16 digs for her tenth double-digit match of the year (sixth career), adding five assists and three aces.

After splitting the first two sets, Emerson took control behind the service line with eight of its 20 aces in the third set, including three-straight from Hokenson to open a 23-12 lead before closing out the set with a Dickerson kill. The Lions added five more aces in the fourth set in closing out the match, using a 6-1 run that turned a 9-9 draw into a seven-point lead (17-10) after a kill from first-year Emma Luehring. The Lions kept Saint Joseph's at arm's length from there, closing the match with a pair of Dickerson kills late in the set, including match point.
