Connecticut College Rallies Past Women's Volleyball in Five

Letourneau’s 52 assists and 19 Anderson kills spearheads Camels

BOSTON, Mass. (October 25, 2025) – Connecticut College rallied from a set down on two occasions to secure a 3-2 (23-25, 25-13, 19-25, 25-22, 15-13) victory over Emerson College in non-conference volleyball action at Bobbi Brown and Steven Plofker Gymnasium this afternoon.

First-year setter Aubrie Letourneau engineered the Connecticut College attack that hit .311 for the match with 52 assists, eight digs, two service aces and a block assists. Sophomore Grace Anderson paced the Camels attack with 19 kills and just three errors for a .571 hitting percentage with two block assists. Senior Riley Lord and junior Rae Wartelle each contributed 11 kills, with Wartelle adding four service aces and two blocks and Anderson recording two block assists and two digs. Junior Taylor Merrifield chipped in with 14 digs and three assists.

Junior Rachel Dickerson paced the Emerson attack with a career-high 18 kills with just four errors for a .326 hitting percentage, adding 11 digs for her fifth double-double of the season (seven career) with a service ace. Sophomore Chloe Hokenson dished out 39 assists with five digs, two aces and five kills, while junior Lauren Yoo contributed 13 digs and a season-high six aces. First-years Catherine McDonough and Shirley Yu each added nine kills for the Lions, with McDonough hitting .400 and adding four blocks.

Emerson hit .342 and dished out five aces in clipping Connecticut College in the opening set. Yu posted four kills on seven total attacks in the frame, while McDonough also posted four kills for the Lions.

Connecticut College built a nine-point lead (13-4) in the second set on its way to leveling the match. The Camels hit .700 in the set with 15 kills and just one error with Letourneau dishing out 14 assists, and Anderson totaling four kills on as many attacks.

Dickerson led Emerson to the third set win to pull the hosts within a set of a non-conference win. She posted six kills in the set with just one error for a .385 hitting percentage in the frame. With the match knotted at 15-15, the Lions outscored the visitors 10-4 the rest of the way, with five-straight points on the serve of sophomore Sami Kim, including an ace.

Connecticut College forced a fifth and deciding set by using a 5-1 run, including four-straight points on the serve of first-year Dylan Kokkinos, including two of Anderson's five kills in the set. The Camels closed the set out thanks to a pair of Wartelle kills. The Camels rallied again in the fifth set, closing it out with a .312 team hitting percentage and two aces, despite six kills from Dickerson for Emerson.

Emerson (12-12, 4-4 NEWMAC) returns to action on Tuesday when it visits Wheaton College for a key NEWMAC matchup in Norton at 5 p.m. The Lions return to Boylston Street next Saturday, November 1, to host Gordon College for a non-conference matchup at 5 p.m. Connecticut College (12-8. 3-5 NESCAC) hosts Bowdoin College on Friday at 7 p.m.
