Bowdoin Rallies Past Women's Soccer, 2-1

Hacker’s second half goal caps Polar Bears comeback from early Lions marker

BRUNSWICK, Maine (October 1, 2025) – Bowdoin College erased an early deficit to claim a 2-1 triumph over Emerson College in a non-conference women's soccer matchup at Pickard Field tonight.

Senior Kyra Hacker pushed Bowdoin in front in the 71st minute to cap the comeback win for Bowdoin which leveled just before the half thanks to sophomore Kayley Huleatt's marker with just 46-seconds remaining until the intermission.

Emerson grabbed a quick lead 2:10 into the match when junior Zoe Simmons took a square ball from the right side by first-year Abby Cockerill cut along the top of the 18 and unleashed her first goal of the season (third career) into the upper left corner.

Sophomore Hailey Forman, the reigning NEWMAC Defensive Athlete of the Week, was credited with double-digit saves for the second-straight match for Emerson, finishing with a career-high 12 stops. Senior Charlotte Iannone (East Williston, New York/Wheatley School) had three saves for Bowdoin.

Emerson (4-3-2, 2-0-0 NEWMAC) is backi in action on Saturday when it returns to NEWMAC play at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, at noon. The Lions next home match is next Wednesday, October 8, when they host Wellesley College for a NEWMAC clash at Rotch Field at 6 p.m. Bowdoin (5-3-0, 1-3-0 NESCAC) visits Middlebury College on Saturday at 11 a.m.
