HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The home side closed out the first frame with an 8-3 run to own a 35-27 lead at the break.
- Emerson started the second stanza with a 9-4 stretch to trim the deficit to 39-36 with 16:53 remaining.
- Clark chalked up seven unanswered points to claim a 55-41 advantage with 11:07 left to play.
- The Cougars maintained a double-digit lead throughout the final 10 minutes of the contest to wrap up their fourth conference victory of the year.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Trevor Arico (Saline, Mich.) scored a team-high 19 points to go with four assists.
- Jacob Armant (Arlington, Texas) notched 13 points while adding four steals and three assists.
- Guillermo Gasset Ruiz (Malaga, Spain) posted nine points and Lucas Brenner (Miami, Fla.) finished with seven points.
- Emerson finished with a field-goal percentage of 41.4% and drained 10-of-24 from behind the arc.
- Clark shot 42.9% from the floor and 34.5% from three-point distance on the night.
- Isaiah Taylor poured in a game-best 17 points while Quentin Pridgen and Bruce Saintilus both netted 16 points for Clark.
