BOSTON, Mass.- The Emerson College women's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie against Gordon Saturday afternoon at Rotch Field in the first home match of the 2024 campaign.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two sides headed into the halftime intermission deadlocked at 0-0 after both teams recorded four shots in the first frame.
- Gordon got on the board in the 54th minute to grab a 1-0 lead. Eowyn Lapp netted her team-leading second goal of the year as Ada Forbes picked up an assist.
- Emerson equalized in the 85th minute to pull even at 1-1. Kayla Sweeney (Flourtown, Pa.) curled in her first career marker while Jillian Venezia (Irvine, Calif.) notched her first assist of the season.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Linae Bezdek (Frisco, Texas) paced the Lions with four shot attempts in the contest while Kayla Sweeney (Flourtown, Pa.) registered three shots.
- Amara Schaub (Redondo Beach, Calif.) finished with five saves between the pipes.
- Emerson produced 12 shot attempts on the afternoon while Gordon managed 10 shots.
- The Lions concluded the game with a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.
