BOSTON, Mass.- The Emerson College women's volleyball team opened the 2024 campaign with a 3-0 victory at Simmons before blanking Nazareth 3-0 at the Bobbi Brown & Steven Plofker Gymnasium Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Emerson eked out a 25-23 decision in the first set to establish a 1-0 edge.
- The Lions cruised to a 25-14 win in the second frame to widen the margin to 2-0.
- Emerson prevailed 25-18 in the third to lock up its first victory of the year.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Amelia Combs (Eugene, Ore.) notched a match-high 14 kills to go with a pair of service aces.
- Brooke Maynez (Las Cruces, N.M.) finished with six kills and four total blocks while Parker Cummings (Rochester, N.Y.) also added six kills.
- Chloe Hokenson (McLean, Va.) posted 24 assists, seven digs, five kills, and five aces in her collegiate debut.
- Caroline Davis (Orlando, Fla.) paced the Lions defensively with 11 digs.
- Zoe Chatterton recorded 11 kills to lead the Sharks while April Beatty chipped in with 12 digs and 12 assists.

- Emerson notched a 25-18 win in the opening frame to grab a 1-0 lead.
- The home side edged the visitors 25-23 in the second to double its advantage to 2-0.
- The Lions posted a 25-16 victory in the third set to collect their second-straight sweep.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Parker Cummings (Rochester, N.Y.) chalked up a match-best 14 kills while adding six digs.
- Amelia Combs (Eugene, Ore.) registered a double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs to go with five aces.
- Chloe Hokenson (McLean, Va.) dished out 27 assists and chipped in with eight digs.
- Defensively, Caroline Davis (Orlando, Fla.) finished with 11 digs and Lily Nguyen (West Hartford, Conn.) recorded nine digs.
- Tessa Grover paced Nazareth with 11 kills and 10 digs while Ella Kules tallied 13 assists.
