HOW IT HAPPENED
- Suffolk jumped out to a 3-run lead in the 2nd inning. Delaney Doidge hit one to left-center field for a 2-run double, and she would become the third run of the inning after scoring on an error.
- Emerson began closing the gap in the 4th inning after Claire Overton plated two with an RBI single to left field. The Lions would tie up the game in the 5th inning after Steph Trendell hit a sac fly to left field to bring in Carly Rosenberger.
- Emerson would keep the drum rolling in the 6th inning, as Riley Caiazza drove in two on a base hit and advanced to second base on the throw home. Caiazza would later cross the plate on an error for the Lions third run of the inning.
- Suffolk began their comeback with an RBI single by Lily Gustafson. Gustafson would cross the plate on an RBI single by Julia Mills, who in turn scored on an RBI double by Catherine Carignan.
- The scoring continued as Becky Zellin came up with a 2-run double, after which Caleigh Sheehan was replaced in the circle by Kate Regan. The fresh arm didn't slow down the Rams, as Lily Newhall drove in another run on another double. Jolie Quintana picked up an RBI on a single to center field. The last two runs scored on another RBI single by Gustafson, with one scoring on the hit and another scoring on the throw.
