HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nicholas Fulgione and Birk Swan led the way for Emerson, scoring four and three goals respectively. On the other side, Charlie Racine tallied five of Wheaton's 12 goals.
- Emerson's largest lead of the game came with 7:35 left in the third quarter, as a goal by Nicholas Fuglione put the Lions up 10-7. Wheaton scored three straight goals to tie the game at 10 apiece entering the fourth quarter.
- Wheaton's Charlie Racine put the Lyons up 11-10 at the 13:30 mark in the fourth quarter. The score was equalized at 11 thanks to another goal from Nicholas Fulgione with 8:51 remaining. The game-winner for Wheaton came with 5:55 remaining thanks to a goal by Jack Board, who was assisted by Evan Patzuro.
- Emerson's Jack O'Rourke fired a last second shot with 0:03 remaining in the game to attempt to force overtime, but was saved by Lyon's GK Connor Almstrom. Almstrom finished the game with 12 saves, while Emerson's Malcolm McGrath tallied 13 saves of his own.
