HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Ava DelliCompagni led the Lions offense on opening night against Gordon College as she scored 3 goals and assisted on four more goals for Emerson. Lauren Longstreet scored a team-high 5 goals while Grace Denehy and Callie Krosin netted 3 goals apiece as well.
- Gordon College was led on offense by Kaitlyn Mini who scored a game-high 6 goals in a losing effort.
- The Lions were able to find the back of the net on 50% of their attempts as they scored 22 goals on 44 shots while Gordon found the back of the net 13 times on 25 shots.
- Gordon was able to out-score the Lions in the second quarter, but the Lions shut out Gordon in the third quarter which ultimately led to the Lions 9-point victory on Wednesday evening.
