NEW LONDON, Conn.- The No. 6 seed Emerson College men's soccer team fell 3-2 in overtime at third-seeded Coast Guard Tuesday evening in the NEWMAC Tournament first round.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Coast Guard captured a 1-0 edge in the third minute. Aki Freeman bagged his eighth goal of the season as Andres Villasana picked up an assist.
- Emerson responded with a goal in the 13 minute to level the contest at 1-1. Riler Selman (Portland, Ore.) notched his third tally of the campaign while Theodore Bushara (New York, N.Y.) collected an assist.
- The Lions grabbed a 2-1 lead in the 29th minute as Thomas Pelino (San Jose, Calif.) buried his second marker of the year.
- The Bears pulled even at 2-2 in the 58th minute on Aki Freeman's second goal of the match.
- The two teams finished regulation deadlocked at 2-2, forcing overtime.
- Coast Guard netted the golden goal in the 94th minute to escape with a 3-2 win. Cole Miller knocked in his third marker of the season as Jack Lopez added an assist.

- Thomas Pelino (San Jose, Calif.) paced Emerson with four shots while Diego Garcia-Ocampo (Ventura, Calif.), Anthony Ramlochan (South Orange, N.J.), and Riler Selman (Portland, Ore.) all registered two shot attempts.
- Goalkeeper Beckett Hobbs (Issaquah, Wash.) finished with five saves in his eighth-straight start.
- Emerson chalked up 12 shots on the night while Coast Guard produced 14 attempts.
