The Lead- Bri Frongillo led all scorers with 26 points while Olivia Deslauriers chipped in 16 points as the Emerson Women's basketball team cruised to a 72-56 victory over Regis (Mass) on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • The first 10 minutes was a tightly contested battles between Emerson and Regis. The Lions paced Regis out of the gate as they held the lead the entire quarter, but couldn't create a lead larger than 6-points. After the firs 10 minutes, the Lions held a tight 11-10 lead.
  • The second quarter is when the Lions jumped out to a big lead thanks to their lights out shooting. The Lions drilled 6 pf their 7 three-point attempts in the second quarter while shooting 67% from the field. Regis struggled from the field in the second quarter, only shooting 40% on 10 attempts in the quarter.
  • The Lions had built a 17-point lead heading into halftime.
  • Regis was able to make some halftime adjustments and have their best quarter of the game in the third quarter; outscoring the Lions by a 21-13 margin. Despite being outscored in the quarter, the Lions still held a 9-point lead headed into the final 10 minutes.
  • Lights out shooting from Bri Frongillo and Olivia Deslauriers from beyond the arc gave the Lions the boost they needed throughout the game. Frongillo and Deslauriers combined for 8-three pointers and 42 combined points for the Lions.
  • The Lions had built a comfortable lead headed into the fourth quarter and was able to close out Regis by a score of 72-56 on Tuesday afternoon.
