HOW IT HAPPENED
22": Tufts made their way onto the board at the midway point of the first half behind a goal from O'Neill. A quick pass from Kelly from the right side made its way to O'Neill, who was just outside the left post. O'Neill quickly booted the ball from within the post and into the lower right side to give the Jumbos the 1-0 lead.
23": Just over a minute later, the visitors struck again after the back line could not clear the ball after a shot as Aires took the deflected ball and put in the back of net past Schaub as Emerson now faced an early two-goal deficit.
26": Emerson surrendered its third goal three minutes after they fell to a two-goal margin when Greenberg slipped the Jumbos' third goal into the lower left corner past the dive of Schaub.
-At the end of the first frame, the score sat at 3-0 as Tufts outshot Emerson, 13-2.
-The second half saw Emerson gain more offensive pressure on Tufts and outshot the visitors, 9-5.
-In the 65th minute, junior Dylan Parker sent a shot from near midfield when Hill was off her post, but the ball sailed into her hands. Another opportunity came in the 76th minutes when freshman Kailyn O'Meara's header just went past the left side of the post.
-Emerson's last opportunity for a goal came with 28 seconds left in regulation when senior Simone Barragan-Shaw broke away from a defender, but her shot fell into the hands of Hill as the Lions fell, 3-0.
