The Lead: The Emerson men's soccer team saw freshman Thomas Pelino and junior Gregory
Kopanezos find the back of the net, but Roger Williams answered with a pair of second half
goals to draw the 2-2 tie on Friday night at Rotch Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
13'': A strong offensive attack led Emerson to an early 1-0 lead. With a defender on his back,
Maxwell drove the ball up the right side and crossed a pass over to Pelino, who was in front of
the net. Pelino squared up, collected the pass from Maxwell and booted the Lions' first goal past
Avellar's drive into the lower right side.
51": A Roger Williams foul turned into Emerson's second goal and gave the hosts the 2-0 lead
seven minutes into the second half. Off Lee's free kick, Kopanezos shouldered in the pass
through the arms of Avellar.
77": 26 minutes after Emerson snagged the two-goal cushion, Roger Williams answered with a
goal of their own from Blaisdell, whose shot landed into the lower right hand corner past the dive
of Hobbs.
85": With five minutes remaining in regulation, Thomas capitalized on a defensive miscue on
the backline and sent in the equalizer past Hobbs' reach.
-Roger Williams got two more shots off before regulation wrapped as Hobbs scooped up one
shot to put the game at a 2-2 tie.
