HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first quarter saw Smith College shoot at nearly a 70% clip, converting on 11 of their 16 attempts including 3 of 5 three-pointers. Scoring a total of 27 points in the first 10 minutes, Smith jumped out to an early lead on the Lions.
- Led by five points from Senior Carla Pelino, the Lions converted on 6 of their 15 field goal attempts, including one three-pointer from Senior Chelsea Gibbons.
- Both offenses slowed down during the second quarter as the Lions only converted 2 of 16 attempts while Smith only converted on 3 of 13 attempts. Neither side hit a three-pointer as the Lions entered halftime down by a score of 37-18.
- Both sides converted 50% of their attempts in the 3rd quarter, but the lead that Smith had built in the first half was too much for the Lions to make a substantial dent.
- Smith would continue their consistent offensive showing into the final 10 minutes as they closed out an 80-45 victory over the Lions on Wednesday night.
