HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- Led by a game-high 34 points from Ella Bushee, the Lions led the Nichols Bison wire-to-wire on Tuesday evening. Bushee led the Lions out of the gate, scoring 10 of Emerson's 24 first-half points as the Lions closed out the first 10 minutes with a 24-15 lead.
- Neither side shot particularly well in the second quarter as the Bison only converted 5 of their 29 (17%) attempts while the Lions converted only 6 of their 18 attempts (33%)
- Despite the poor shooting, The Lions were still able to outscore the Bison in the second quarter by a margin of 15-13 as they held a 39-27 lead going into halftime.
- Both teams found their stroke in the third quarter as the Lions converted 12 of 20 attempts including knocking down three 3-pointers, while Nichols shot 50% on 11 of 22 attempts, but only hitting one three-pointer.
- Holding a comfortable 18-point lead as the third quarter came to close, the Lions were able to pace Nichols in the final 10 minutes of the game and come away with a commanding 91-81 victory.
- Along with Bushee's 34 points, Bri Frongillo chipped in 21 points and 9 assists while Kendra Dodd scored 11 points.
