HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • Trevor Arico led the Lions in the first 20 minutes as he dropped in 14 of his game-high 32 points. The Lions led by as many as 10 points in the opening half as they never trailed in the first half.
  • Guillermo Gasset Ruiz also did most of his damage in the first half as he scored 13 of his 14 points as the Lions closed out the half with a 44-36 lead.
  • Arico stayed hot in the second half as he continued to lead the Lions offense, scoring 18 points, including shooting 9-9 from the charity stripe.
  • Overall, the Lions shot poorly from the field in the second half, only converting 5 of 22 attempts (23%) while Albertus Magnus converted 11 of their 21 attempts including three of six three-pointed as they climbed back into the game, despite a 9-point deficit early in the second half.
  • The ions maintained their lead until the 2:48 mark when Albertus Magnus tied the game at 68-68.
  • The Lions were trailing by 2-points with under 30 seconds to play when Arico drilled two free-throws to tie the game at 73 apiece. A turnover on Albertus Magnus' next possession led to the end of regulation as the teams headed for overtime.
  • Justice Washington took over for Albertus Magus in the overtime period as he scored 8 of Albertus Magnus' 14 overtime points. Despite taking an early lead in the period, Albertus Magnus took over late and secured an 87-81 victory on Saturday afternoon.
