The Lead: The Emerson Women's Soccer team got goals from Simone Barragan-Shaw and Madeline Khaw as they defeated Salve Regina on Wednesday evening in Newport R.I.

First Half:
Emerson broke the scoreless game in the 23rd minute when Simone Barragan-Shaw netted a goal, assisted by Alianna West-Rodrigues, giving Emerson the lead 1-0.
Just under 3 minutes later, in the 27th minute, Emerson extended their lead to 2-0 with a goal from Madeline Khaw. The first half ended with Emerson ahead 2-0.

Second Half:
Salve Regina got on the scoreboard in the 64th minute, Olivia Tacconi scored a crucial goal for Salve Regina, with Taylor Barnaby providing the assist. This goal narrowed the gap to 2-1.
Salve Regina was unable to find the back of the net again before time expired and the match ended with Emerson winning 2-1.
