The Lead: The Emerson Men's Soccer team traveled to Worcester on Saturday afternoon for their 2023 season finale against Clark University. The Lions out-shot Clark in the second half but were unable to find the back of the net and dropped the match by a score of 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Half:
27"- Clark broke the scoreless tie when Lucas Saia beat the Lions goalkeeper to find the back of the net on a pass from Mauro Perez Colon. With the goal, the Cougars took a 1-0 lead.
35"- Less than 10 minutes later, Clark extended their lead when Anyolo Makatiani scored, giving the Cougars a 2-0 lead.
-Thomas Pelino and Ben Deeming both had scoring opportunities in the final five minutes, but neither were able to find the back of the net as the game entered halftime with Clark ahead by a score of 2-0

2nd Half:
-Emerson out shot the Cougars in the second half by a score of 7-4, but the Lions were unable to cut into Clark's lead.
-Pelino fired two shots on net in the final 3 minutes but one sailed high while the other was sent wide. The Cougars were able to keep the Lions off the scoreboard and secured a 2-0 victory in the season finale for both teams.
