The Lead: Led by Jarred Houston, the Emerson Men's Basketball team saw four players with double digit points as they defeated NEWMAC opponent Springfield by a score of 74-66 on Wednesday evening at Blake Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson was led by Graduate Jarred Houston who dominated inside all day for Lions as he recorded 21 points and 17 rebounds. The Lions had three others in double figures, Senior Max Davis who finished with 18 points and drilled four of the Lions nine three-pointers, Graduate Nate Martin chipped in 12 points, and Freshman Brendan McNamara added 11 points.
- The Lions converted on 26-66 (39.4%) from the field including 9-25 (36%) from three-point land. The Pride shot at a similar clip; converting 25 of 65 (38.5%) attempts, but only hitting three of 17 shots from behind the arc.
- The Lions led for most of the first half after falling behind 11-6 5 minutes into the game. The Lions responded with a 12-0 run, capped by a three-pointed from Graduate Sean Coman.
- Springfield would fight back throughout the half, but Emerson would continue to keep Springfield at bay. Martin drilled a corner three with under two minutes remaining to cap a 13-5 run by the Lions and give them a 36-28 cushion.
- Springfield came out aggressive in the second half with a 9-3 run; capturing their first lead since early in the first half. Trailing 55-50, the Lions would hold the Pride scoreless for the next four minutes and score 10 points of their own; regaining the lead.
- The Lions converted 5 of 6 free-throws down the stretch to secure the 74-66 victory on Wednesday evening.
