The Lead: Led by Oliva Deslauriers' season high 26 points and 13 points apiece from Ella Bushee and Chelsea Gibbons, the Lions outlasted Clark 68-64 on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED `

  • Emerson's Oliva Deslauriers broke the scoreless tie at 7:20 in the first quarter when she drilled a three-pointer on a pass from Ella Bushee.
  • Deslauriers would drill another three-pointer with 5:18 remaining in the first quarter to extend the Lions lead to 8-2.
  • Clark would answer with an 8-0 run to grab what would ultimately be their largest lead of the game at 10-8 with 2:41 remaining in the first quarter. Deslauriers would hit yet another three-pointer on the next possession as the Lions regained the lead.
  • The Lions came out hot in the second quarter as they outscored Clark 22-9. Chelsea Gibbons knocked down two three-pointers to help propel the Lions to a 38-21 lead going into halftime.
  • Clark was able to chip away in the third quarter as Hannah Favaloro dropped in 11 of her 23 points cutting the Lions lead to 53-42 after three quarters.
  • Clark continued to cut into Emerson's lead into the fourth quarter. With 5:17 remaining in the game, Emily Sifferlen sank a free throw that brought Clark within two as Emerson led 59-57.
  • An Ella Bushee layup would give the Lions some breathing room, but two made free throws by Favaloro and a layup by Jacqueline Faulise would tie the game at 61-61 with 2:26 remaining in the game.
  • Another Bushee layup would give the Lions the lead and two Deslauriers free throws would extend the lead to 65-61 with less than a minute remaining.
  • The Lions would hold on in the final minute to and would secure a 68-64 victory.
