The Lead: Four of five members of the Emerson men's basketball team registered double-figures as senior Jarred Houston powered his way to a 22 point-22 rebound double-double in the Lions' 83-65 rout over Clark on Saturday afternoon to get their way back into the win column. Houston also etched his name into the men's basketball history books as he dropped his 1,000th career point in a Lions' uniform.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson converted 42.4% from the hardwood as both Waterhouse and Davis paced the Lions with 10 points apiece. At the half, the hosts powered out to a 42-26 lead.
- Holding a lead of two, Clark managed to up its lead to five on a 7-2 run that was capped off by a trey from O'Brien and the score at 11-6. After the Lions trailed the Engineers, the hosts never trailed again for the remainder of regulation.
- With 11:29 on the clock, Emerson held Clark to one shot as layups from Davis started and ended an 8-0 Lions spurt that put the Lions in the lead once and for all with the score at 16-11.
- Clark missed two more shots on its end, which allowed Emerson to extend its 8-0 run with the next seven points to push the Lions' lead into double-figures at 23-11.
- For the remainder of regulation, the closest Clark would come to reaching Emerson was 12 as the Lions closed the first half up 16.
- The Purple & Gold ventured into 20+ territory at 17:38 behind a trifecta from Martin that put the score at 50-30 three minutes into the start of the second half.
- At the 14:18 mark, Houston's layup not only maintained the 21 point Emerson lead, but he became the second Lion of the season to notch his 1,000th career point with the score sitting at 59-38.
- From the 9:08 to 7:19 mark, a late 10-2 run by Clark erased what was a 16-point deficit and cut the lead down to 10 on a successful trip to the free throw stripe by Gralen Vereen. With Emerson's lead dwindled down to 10, the score sat at 70-60.
- Emerson erased any threat from Clark and answered with a 10-0 streak of their own as a Houston trey ballooned the Lions' lead back up to 20 at 80-60 with 3:22 on the clock.
- For the remainder of regulation, the closest Clark came to Emerson was 18 as the Lions closed the 83-65 rout over the Cougars at the charity stripe.
