HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions stormed out to a commanding lead in the first quarter; led by Junior Ella Bushee scoring 7 of her 23 points. The Lions shot 9-16 (56.3%) from the field in the first quarter, while Lesley only made four shots on 16 attempts (25%).
- The second quarter saw Lesley climb back into the game behind 14 of Sophia Torres' game-high 28 points. Torres made 6 of her 7 field goals and converted two free throw attempts. Emerson was still able to stay hot from the field, converting 7 of 12 attempts (58.3%) and held a 43-28 lead going into halftime.
- Bushee again helped increase Emerson's lead in the third quarter with 10 more points. Senior Carla Pelino and Sophomore Devin Hill both contributed 6 points apiece to help give the Lions a 65-38 lead after three quarters.
- The Lions offense would be led by Sophomore Mackenzie Bruno during the final ten minutes. Bruno racked up 10 points on 6 shots while also pulling down 5 rebounds. Sophomore Quinn O'Connor chipped in 6 points as well to give the Lions a commanding 81-49 victory.
- Overall, the Lions shot 33-62 (53.2%) from the field while Lesley converted 21 of their 56 shots (37.5%) Neither team converted a three-point attempt.
