The Lead: Sophomore Olivia Deslauriers powered the Emerson women's basketball team with a team-best 20 points followed by an 18 point showing from classmate Annika Herbert, but the Lions were edged out, 68-64, by Framingham State on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED `
- Within the opening five minutes of the frame, Emerson was held to just four points by Framingham State and found themselves down by their biggest deficit of the quarter at seven at the 3:51 mark.
- 18 seconds later, Hebert singlehandedly took over and dropped a trio of triples that allowed Emerson to lock the game up at 17-all with 1:58 left to go in the quarter.
- Both Emerson and Framingham State missed shots at the perimeter in the closing seconds of the first as the score stood at 17-all after the first 10 minutes.
- The Lions converted 42.9% of its beyond the arc and held the Rams to zero three-point attempts as the Lions entered the half with a four-point 32-28 edge over the visitors.
- Down one, Emerson used their strength beyond the perimeter to help set the Lions off on a 7-0 run to push the hosts up seven with 2:04 to go in the second. Framingham State kept the game close at the free throw stripe and closed within two, but it was a buzzer bucket by sophomore Quinn O'Connor that put Emerson on top by four at the half.
- At 5:14 of the third, a trey by Padellaro put Framingham State back on top, but not for long. Deslauriers dropped back-to-back triples from deep to push Emerson back up by four at 46-42.
- After Jenna Tavanese converted her basket at 1:23, the visitors went 4-0 to wrap the third and reclaim the lead, 51-49.
- The game stayed evenly matched through nearly six minutes of the fourth quarter and saw four ties, the last coming at 57-all at 5:34. Salti connected on a three as Emerson went back ahead by a trio only to see Framingham State answer with a three on their end to go up two.
- After Carpenter's three-point bucket, Emerson had to play comeback basketball and came within one by Hill with 55 ticks in regulation.
- Fouls by Emerson down the stretch put Framingham State at the line with a little more than 30 seconds left to play and converted all three of its shots at the stripe to put the score at 68-64.
- Salti narrowly missed a triple followed by a missed jumper by Hill in the final seconds as the Lions fell to the Rams, 68-64.
