HOW IT HAPPENED
- Springfield came out strong in the first half, opening the game on a 13-5 run in the first half of the first quarter. The Pride scored two three pointers and two layups to the Lions one layup, extending their lead to 18 at the end of the first quarter, 25-7.
- The Pride opened up the second quarter on a 10-0 run behind two three pointers from Hourihan. Emerson rallied after the run, scoring nine of the next 11 points behind five points from Chelsea Gibbons (Foxborough, Mass.). Emerson closed out the first half with a bucket from Quinn Madden, but trailed 37-18 at the break.
- The Lions and Springfield battled in the second half, with the Pride leading by as many as 30 in the third quarter. Emerson continued to fight throughout the final half, but were unable to overcome the deficit, with the Pride closing out the game with a 41 point victory, 81-40.
