HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson fell behind in the first set, losing 10 if the first twelve points to fall behind 10-2.
- The Lions answered back quickly, cutting the lead to three at 12-9 on an error by New England College
- The Lions quickly took the lead at 16-15, and improved on it, taking the first set 25-23.
- The second set saw a back and forth affair which saw the Lions leading 16-15 halfway through.
- As Lauren Quan took the serve, Emerson rolled off eight straight points to take a commanding lead on New England College.
- Logan Steenbergen took the final point on the second set on a kill, giving Emerson the 25-16 victory and the 2-0 lead.
- Emerson took a commanding lead in the third set, and saw it through to the end.
- The Lions lead late at 20-8 before NEC went on a 6-1 run to cut the lead to 21-14.
- Emerson saw out the set and finished the match 3-0, earning their fist win of 2019.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson dropped the first set after a har dfought battle, keeping the score close. After knotting it up at 19-19, the Lions dropped three straight points and were unable to come back, falling 25-21.
- Emerson rebounded in the second set, coming out firing. The Lions opened up and early 13-6 lead behind multiple kills by Grace Tepper.
- Emerson close out the set at 25-15, knotting the score at one a piece.
- The third set was a back and forth battle, with neither team opening up more than a three point lead. After being knotted at 19-19, UMass Boston was able to create some breathing room at 23-29, before Emerson came right back.
- The Beacons ended up finishing out the set at 26-24 and taking a 2-1 lead.
- In the fourth set, Emerson responded just like they did in the second set and took a commanding lead. The Lions didn't let the Beacons get back into it, and closed out the set at 25-16.
- In the final set, the teams played close until the Lions and Beacons were knotted at 7. With the final set only going to 15, Emerson took 8 of 11 points and took the victory at 15-10, winning the match 3-2.
