HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first set saw both teams score points back and forth. Throughout the whole set, no team had more than a four-point lead. The Lions fell behind at 17-21, before rattling off five straight points to take a 22-21 lead, headlined by three straight Vaimoso kills. Emerson took their lead to 23-22, but Wheaton was able to take three straight points to take the set 25-23.
- In the second set, the teams traded points to start the set, ending up at 11 apiece after 22 points. Wheaton went on an 8-0 run after the score was tied at eleven to take a commanding 19-11 lead. The Lions fought back bur were unable to overcome the deficit falling 25-16 in the second set.
- In the third set, the Wheaton and Emerson once again traded points to start the set. Wheaton was able to go on a 7-1 run to take a 16-8 lead. The Lions fought back, this time cutting the lead to two points at 20-18. Emerson was just unable to complete the comeback int he set, falling 25-20 and losing the match 3-0.
