The Lead: The Emerson Women's Volleyball Team took their fourth straight victory and third straight conference victory with a win over the Clark Cougars on Tuesday night behind 14 kills from Junior Grace Tepper (Kensington, Md.)

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson jumped out to an early lead in the first set, taking the first five points on the serve by Carolyn Vaimoso. Clark was able to cut the lead to two at 9-7, before the Lions rattled off a 12-5 run to take a commanding 21-12 lead. The Cougars kept fighting but were unable to overcome the first set deficit, with the Lions taking the first set 25-18 with a final kill by Albany Alexander (Orlando, Fla.).
- The second set started much like the first set, with the Lions taking the first six points this time. Clark came right back grabbing four straight to cut the lead to two. The Lions continued to build on their lead through good defense and solid attacks, eventually extending the lead to 11 at 22-11 on a Caroline Bond (Macungie, Penn.) service ace. Clark rallied late but once against fell short of the comeback, with the Lions taking the second set 25-16.
- Emerson took a commanding 8-2 lead early with the final point coming on a Bond kill to start the third set. The Lions kept the Cougars at bay, this time taking a 20-11 lead on an attack error by the Cougars. Clark went on a 5-1 run here to cut the lead to five, but the Lions were able to close out the set, finishing the set on an Anna Phillips (Peoria, Ariz.) service ace, 25-15. The Lions took the match 3-0.
