- Grace Tepper (Kensington, Md.) and Fara Cohen (Morristown, N.J.) each recorded a double double with 10 kills. Tepper had 11 digs while Cohen recorded 10.
- Moira Brennan (Glenview, Ill.) totaled 28 assists, one kill, and one service ace.
- Albany Alexander (Orlando, Fla.) chipped in seven kills for the Lions.
- The Engineers were led by Abby Bertics who totaled 30 kills in the four set match.
- Christina Liao had 37 assists for MIT while grabbing 10 digs.
- Carly Silvernale and Margaret Wang led the Engineers in digs with 15 and 12 respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emerson fell behind n the first set, When Madison Le's serve gave MIT a 6-2 lead.
- The Lions roared back to ie the score, and the teams traded points until Emerson took a 19-17 lead.
- Emerson built it's lead behind Moira Brennan, and got the score to 24-20, before forcing an attack error and finish the set at 25-23.
- The Engineers and Emerson traded points to start off the set, and Emerson led 11-10 after 21 points.
- Wang took the serve for MIT, and the Engineers went on a 14-1 run, opening up a 23-11 lead.
- MIT grabbed two of the next five points to close out the set at 25-14.
- In the third set, MIT and Emerson opened up with 4 points a piece.
- MIT ran off a 5-0 run to open up a 9-4 lead early.
- Emerson came back cut the score to 11-8, before MIT rattled off a 10-2 run to make the score 21-10.
- Emerson continued to battle and cut the lead to 6 at 24-18, but MIT finished the set off 25-18.
- MIT carried their momentum into the fifth set, wining 13 of the first 14 points.
- After opening up the 12 point led, Emerson cut the lead to 8 at 19-11.
- The Engineers saw out the set 25-16, marking the victory for MIT.
